Pricing & Policy
Fees & Payments
My fee is $150 for a one-hour session. I also offer discounted packages at $100 per session (for example, 3 sessions for $300). These are the only fees you will pay. No hidden costs, no surprise charges, and no additional fees of any kind.
Secure Payment
Cards are never stored in my system, and you cannot be charged without manually purchasing sessions yourself. Each session or package must be purchased by you, ensuring complete control over all transactions and eliminating any possibility of unexpected charges.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel your appointment, please provide at least 24-hour notice whenever possible. While I appreciate advance notice to manage my schedule effectively, there are no rescheduling fees or cancellation charges. I understand that unexpected circumstances may arise, and my goal is to work with you to reschedule when needed.
Insurance Not Accepted
Insurance is not accepted for hypnotherapy sessions. Most plans don't cover hypnotherapy, and those that do often require extensive documentation and limit your session options. The direct-pay model keeps your experience focused entirely on your success and well-being.
Privacy & Safety
Session Privacy
You have the right to expect that anything you tell me will be held in confidence. I will not release any information without your written authorization.
All business is conducted through secure platforms. I maintain Business Associate Agreements (BAA) with all technology providers to ensure your information receives the highest level of security and privacy protection available.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
I use Zoom for Healthcare's AI Companion to generate summaries of our sessions. This helps me maintain accurate records and provide consistent care. AI processing is HIPAA-compliant, sessions are never recorded, and notes remain confidential and anonymous, containing no personally identifiable information. AI assists with documentation only; all decisions about your care and interventions come from my professional judgment. Every note is reviewed, validated, and refined by me.
Background Verification
I voluntarily undergo comprehensive annual background screening through Checkr, a leading third-party verification service. My 2026 screening returned a Clear status across all categories, including identity verification, criminal background checks, sex offender registry searches, and national security database checks. This voluntary commitment demonstrates my dedication to maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct and ensuring a safe environment for all clients.
Client Code of Conduct
Clients who exhibit disrespectful or inappropriate behavior may have their session terminated immediately and may be declined for future appointments. This ensures that our work together can be conducted in an atmosphere of safety, trust, and mutual respect.
Client Responsibility
Results from hypnotherapy vary from person to person. The success of our work together depends greatly on your commitment and follow-through. You are responsible for your own well-being during and after our sessions, including making health choices and decisions. While many clients report positive outcomes, I cannot guarantee specific results.
Virtual Sessions
Technical Requirements
For virtual sessions, you'll need a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, a private and quiet space free from interruptions, and the Zoom application (or browser access).
Force Majeure
My ability to provide services may occasionally be interrupted by circumstances beyond my control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government orders, public health emergencies, internet service outages, power failures, or technological disruptions.
Troubleshooting Procedures
In the event of technical difficulties, we will attempt to reconnect. If reconnection is not possible, we will reschedule or continue by telephone, depending on your preference.

My Training
I hold a Diploma in Hypnotherapy from HMI College of Hypnotherapy in Southern California, where I completed an internship under state-credentialed instructors. My training also includes a Wellness Counseling Certificate from Cornell University and an Integrative Health and Medicine Specialization from the University of Minnesota. I complete continuing education annually to keep my training current with developments in the field.
Limited Liability Company
Hypnotherapy with Harley Sears, LLC is a Kansas-registered business entity in good standing with the Secretary of State, ensuring full compliance with all professional and legal requirements, and the highest standards of business conduct and client protection.
Professional Liability Insurance
Professional liability insurance as a Hypnotherapist is maintained through American Professional Agency of New York.

Notice
As the State of Kansas has not adopted educational and training standards for the practice of hypnotism, this statement of credentials is for informational purposes only. Hypnotism is a self-regulating profession, and its practitioners are not licensed by state governments. I am not a physician nor a licensed health care provider and may not provide a medical diagnosis nor recommend discontinuance of medically prescribed treatments. If you desire a diagnosis or any other type of treatment, you may seek such services at any time.
Scope of Practice Limitations
I do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical, mental health, or psychological conditions. The services I provide are non-therapeutic and complementary to, not a replacement for, any medical or psychological care you may be receiving. Hypnosis is not intended to be a substitute for treatment from qualified professionals. Always consult with your healthcare provider regarding your medical conditions and treatments.
Contraindications
Hypnotherapy may not be appropriate for individuals with certain conditions, including severe mental health disorders, active psychosis, dissociative disorders, or other conditions that might be adversely affected by hypnotic techniques. If you have any of these conditions or are unsure whether hypnotherapy is appropriate for you, please consult with your healthcare provider before proceeding with sessions. If I determine that a client's needs exceed my scope of practice, I will provide appropriate referrals to licensed professionals.
Client Relationship
Communication
I'm available Monday through Friday and strive to respond to all communications within a few hours. Please note that I am not available for emergency services. If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
Termination Policy
I reserve the right to terminate our professional relationship if I believe that continuing would not be in your best interest, if your needs exceed my scope of practice, or if other circumstances arise that necessitate termination. Similarly, you have the right to terminate our professional relationship at any time.

- You have read, understood, and agree to all terms outlined in this Client Bill of Rights.
- You understand that hypnosis is not a replacement for medical treatment, psychological or psychiatric services, or counseling.
- You understand that results vary and that Harley Sears does not guarantee any specific outcomes.
- You recognize that you are fully responsible for your physical, mental, and emotional well-being during and after your sessions, including your choices and decisions.
- You understand that you may discontinue services at any time.
- You understand that all information shared during your sessions will be kept confidential, except in cases where disclosure is required by law or where you have given written permission.
- If participating in virtual sessions, you agree to ensure you have the necessary technology and privacy in place.
